With Halloween fast approaching it’s time to dust off those dirty and cobwebbed Halloween games for the kids. Depending on the style of party you are throwing you may be looking for Halloween crafts, icky sticky food games, some races and team games.
Ready to dive into the magical world of Pandora and explore the warrior race Na’vi along with your friends? Then read on how to get the avatar outfit.
There’s no doubt that thousands will want to dress up like Jake Sully or the sexy Neytiri this Halloween. Avatar movie has become epic within a few weeks. No one could leave without dropping their jaws when this 3d masterpiece was on screen. Phenomenal story, mind-blowing sceneries, top-notch CGI effects leaves you speechless. 1000′s if not millions of boys and girls (and I mean adults too) will be ready this Halloween to surprise everyone with their new cool Na’vi outlook. And if you’re one of those hard-core Avatar fans, then I can suggest a few choices for you.
Make Your Own Avatar Costume
First, is to make a costume yourself. Yep, it takes time, dedication and a large chunk of passion, but you can become Neytiri without leaving your home. To make a good looking sexy Avatar costume, you’ll need a few things:
Makeup – If you want to look just like one of the blue-skinned alien hybrids, you must leave no inch of your body uncovered. You can get blue-makeup at Halloween costume shops where they sell avatar costumes. Or simply search for blue-makeup and you’ll find what you need.
Costume – You can make your own costume or you can buy a tight blue costume at the local store. Either way, make sure it’s tight on your body to resemble the Neytiri’s body. In Jake Sully’s case, you just need a shirt and pants, so it’s much simpler for men.
Accessories – This is where you can experiment. You can get a wig, ears to look more like the aliens, spears, tails and anything your imagination suggests. This part often times separates so-so costumes from the really original and great looking outfits.
Order Halloween Avatar Outfits Online
This is the option most people tend to use. Instead of spending time making their own costume, you simply buy one. Sure it’s not very creative, but it save you a lot of time and price usually isn’t that big. You can get officially licensed avatar costumes from $30 to $70 depending on size. Kids costumes are cheaper. However, factory-made outfits already quite accurately resemble the alien race, so you actually may look better in one of those.
When it comes to the accessories, some costumes come along with wigs and spears already, so you don’t have to look for those hardly. Additionally, you can purchase makeup to help you out. Adult Jake Sully clothes come in exact color, design as the original in the movie. You basically don’t need any additional accessories to improve your looks. Well maybe a gun for guys;)
And that’s pretty much it. If you have the skills and patience, design your own avatar costume. Otherwise, don’t be afraid to spend a few bucks on a quality costume. You’ll be able to use it on many occasions. Whichever option you’ll use, the main point is to have a great time during Halloween. Go running wild and enjoy yourself being an avatar. You can worry about consequences later;)
Halloween takes on a new meaning when you have young children at home, excited about their evening of trick or treating and having fun with their friends. But, along with Halloween, comes the question which everyone asks: “So what are you going to be for Halloween this year?”
As a parent, you want every Trick-or-Treater feeling special and phenomenal in their outfits. That feeling almost beats the sugar-high of all the chocolate & candy treats the kids will bring home. But you probably don’t want to find yourself as the parent who’s trying to sew a costume the night before Halloween. So here are a few cool and relatively easy Halloween costumes for kids that are loads of fun to make so that you can prepare ahead.
One interesting idea could be a neighbors group. If you’re inclined, you may want to host a small party where you let your neighbors share and contribute their ideas for out of the ordinary, children’s Halloween costumes. If you can get a group of the neighborhood families to work together to come up with original, creative costumes, it would be a fun event for all and you could swap and share items. Invite 3 or 4 families, or maybe even a whole block of parents to participate, then set aside a full afternoon and enjoy. You can set up booths, like a wardrobe closet or a face-painting & make-up booth. And when everyone’s ready for a break, open up a healthy snacks booth too.
Think of a costume that represents something cool, something they love doing and they’re proud of. So maybe Ryan is into basketball, and Susie loves skating, and George’s a phenomenal cartoon illustrator. Dig through the closets, call on a few friends, who are involved in the same activity group or club, and come up with genuine costume ideas. You’re either looking for a ballerina outfit or soccer gear or a wetsuit and goggles. It might be relatively easy because you might already have most of those items at home in the activities closet.
The Mike Jordan Outfit: Dress them up like a famous athlete, movie star or famous positive role model that they admire. This is fun to do as a group, because then the kids can help and encourage each other. A group of motivated kids can do a great job of turning this into a successful event. Get each child to find a cool saying, quote or song lyric from the star written on their treat bag.
The DJ or Rapper: Start with jeans, a black-t-shirt, runners and a few gold chains. Then gel the hair back. If you’re going for the rapper look, you want baggy jeans a few sizes too big and a baseball cap put on backwards. And if you’re going for the DJ look, make sure you’ve got earphones hanging around your neck.
Smartie Pants: Get yourself a bag of mini-box Smarties, eat the Smarties of course and then flatten the boxes out. Then pick out an outfit that’s all one colour – pink, green, red, yellow, whatever colour you like. You want to cover your whole body in this colour. Start with two pairs of thick black stockings – your tops and bottoms. And then get yourself a plain t-shirt, short or long-sleeved, maybe some shorts in the same colour. The stockings you will wear over your upper body, so cut out a space for your head. Get yourself some cheap white runners and spray paint them the same colour as your outfit. And now you’re ready to use tacky glue to attach the boxes onto your outfit and a plain ski hat if you have one.
Bubble Gum: Wear pink clothing, and attach pink balloons all over you. And make sure you’ve got a few packs of Hubba Bubba on you so that you can spend the evening blowing bubbles. Spray yourself with baby talcum because it will give you the fresh-smell of bubble gum.
The Pumpkin Head Outfit: It’s how it sounds. Dress up totally in orange right down to your socks, and tie a pillow around your waist so you look like a pumpkin. Then paint your face orange, and spray paint your hair orange. Grab the pumpkin you’ve probably already carved and copy the shape of the eyes using black eyeliner. Take the carved pumpkin with you if you like for added effect.
Whatever Childs costume you choose, remember that making these easy Halloween costumes is definitely a lot of fun so enjoy.
